Last night, Xampla featured on the BBC’s The One Show as part of the programme’s 20th anniversary celebrations. 

Xampla showcased our cutting-edge natural polymer technology on the flagship BBC show, as the programme marks two decades of championing British culture, discoveries and news. 

To mark the celebrations, The One Show is hosting a week of special programmes featuring celebrity guests, surprise moments and stories that have captivated public attention over the last two decades.  

 As part of the 20th anniversary, The One Show explored how Britain’s relationship with plastic has changed, including a look at future materials.

Our Technology Director, Dr Scott Thompson, was interviewed to explain how plastic-free innovation has progressed as part of the company’s efforts to tackle the global plastic pollution problem, and how new materials can be used to replace the hidden plastic within everyday food packaging.  

Based on 15 years of research at the University of Cambridge, Xampla’s multi-patented technology is behind the innovative Morro™ materials made from plant protein, designed to eliminate the most polluting and single-use plastics.
