Curious about coatings?

Not all takeaway boxes are made equal. Most traditional takeaway boxes are coated with invisible plastics or forever chemicals that can harm our planet. Takeaway packaging needs a coating to keep it sturdy and protect it from water, grease, and the delicious food contained inside. With Morro™ Coating, we can keep your packaging perfect but without plastic.

What are Morro™ materials made from?

Morro Coating is recycling-friendly, simply washing off as part of standard recycling processes. If your box can be easily wiped clean, it’s ready to be recycled and have a new lease of life. Morro Coating is also compostable and biodegradable, ensuring that nothing harmful is left behind. Please dispose of your boxes responsibly.

PFAS (Per and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances) are a family of over 10,000 synthetic chemicals, also referred to as ‘forever chemicals’. PFAS can be found in many products used in everyday life, from conventional food packaging to cleaning products. In fact, PFAS has been used so much, that they can be found in all water on Earth. PFAS can pollute the environment for decades as they do not break down easily.

Morro materials are made from plants, with no chemical modification. We use a wide range of different feedstocks including peas, potatoes, rapeseed and more.
