Morro™ Soluble Film

Morro Soluble Film is a natural material made from plants. It protects products, such as dishwasher tablets and laundry pods, in transit and storage to ensure that they’re ready to use when they reach the hands and homes of customers. Morro Soluble Film can be easily dissolved in hot or cold water after use as well as dissolving in the presence of surfactants or high pH. This eradicates the need for single use plastic sachets as well as other soluble packaging films that won’t fully biodegrade if they leak into the natural environment.

Morro Soluble Film has been used for a variety of different products to help reduce plastic waste. Our plastic-free film is compatible with low-water content products. We have tested with laundry pods and dishwasher tablets on standard flow-wrap machinery. Our Soluble Film can also eradicate the need for sample or single-use sachets in beauty and cosmetics for shampoo, shower gel, cleansing balm and more.

Polyvinyl alcohol is often referred to as PVOH, PVA, or PVAl. It is water soluble polymer that is often used for film packaging including dishwasher tablet wrapping. PVA is frequently referred to as biodegradable, however, the conditions necessary for complete biodegradation of PVA or PVOH are extremely specific.
