Xampla is seeking a Product Development Scientist to join our R&D team at Xampla. Inspired by nature, powered by innovation, and led by world-class science, Xampla is scaling the next generation of materials to revolutionise the way we all live.
This Product Development Scientist role will be conceiving and developing products for the packaging industry by formulating resin systems to give desired performance as a coating for fibre-based products.
The successful candidate will be developing concepts and ideas into robust Xampla products, compatible with upstream and downstream processing as well as market expectations. This will including planning, designing, and executing R&D projects with the support of the senior team, leveraging our technology and materials science concepts to design high performance, real-world products.
This role will be working collaboratively cross the Applications, Business Development, and Process Development Team, as well as the wider R&D Group. We are looking for someone to join our team who is able to use materials science and chemistry knowledge to support our R&D division, confidently report results to stakeholders, and to design and undertake experiments ensuring proper documentation and traceability.
Candidate Experience:
- – A Master’s degree in a discipline relating to Material Science, Chemistry, or packaging (or equivalent in skills and experience)
- – Relevant experience of developing products for industrial applications, preferably within the coatings industry
- – Familiarity with paper technology, coatings technology, heat sealing, barrier testing (desired, not essential)
- – Experience in a lab setting with proven capacity to plan and execute experiments
- – Ability to undertake multiple projects simultaneously, working both individually and as part of a team
- – A proven track-record of following procedures, documenting experiments, notetaking, and report writing
