The Role

The company is seeking a Microencapsulation Scientist to join the team, with the role of:
- Supporting development of our microcapsule products, particularly fragrance microcapsules produced by a variety of processes.
- Performing experiments to assess microencapsulate performance.
- Optimising microencapsulate formulations for specific applications.

  • Candidate Experience - Essential

    • •    Experience of microencapsulation in an R&D setting
    • •    Experience formulating with biopolymers and knowledge of their physical properties
    • •    General Laboratory good practices and up keep
    • •    A bachelor’s degree in a discipline relating to Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food science or Material science (or equivalent in skills and experience)

  • Candidate Experience - Desired

    • •    Standard microencapsulation techniques such as spray drying, emulsification and coacervation
    • •    Formulating with biopolymers
    • •    Using a range of laboratory measurement equipment such as light microscopes, particle size analyser, viscosity meters, gas chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography
    • •    Preparation of lab scale samples for formulation testing
    • •    Running shelf-life stability studies
    • •    Running shelf-life stability studies
    • •    Experience of scale-up from laboratory to pilot scale
    • •    Olfactory assessment experience a bonus
